The Calm

Dear all,

Due to insufficent funds and a lack of support from most of the cohort, we are unable to proceed with publication of the graduation book.

Therefore, your Book is dead.

The seven who have paid towards the Book fund will be returned their money. Chunyi will be in touch with you soon regarding the refund. However if your contact details are outdated, please email your new contact details to her at chunz1987@gmail.com as soon as possible.

this post is for the people who still want the fundraiser

we were not aware about the fundraiser dates falling on a submission week, and we deeply apologise for planning it that way as well.

we are now in the midst of conceptualising, and financial things, expect an email next week. i hope you all understand that doing all these are not easy. since we are busy with all those things as well as school, we are unable to carry out planning and organising this fundraiser, however, i do hope some of you will get together and plan it, you can use this blog as means of communication.

VSC dip/grad monetary issues ($$$)

1) Fundraising

The purpose of this is to give the cohort an opportunity to raise funds to ease the burden of paying for dip/grad. Money earned goes to your personal fund (though we hope you’ll ‘donate’ it to those who have trouble paying). Everybody can play his or her part. Minimums of 15 people have to sign up. If not, we will be unable to go ahead with this.

How to go about this:
1. Use the comments section here on this blog to sign up (you have until 28th July)
2. We will have a constantly updated list on this blog to show what people are selling/doing (Please, no live animals)
3. Fundraising will be help from 15th-18th August (hopefully beside the graffiti wall next to the canteen). If there are too many people, we can take turns selling on different days.
4. Set up your booth ☺ This is YOUR event so it’s up to you to dress it up. Dip/grad exco will help with logistics, but not things like getting music, for example.

Start thinking of what you want to do! :)

We’ll only start in August, so that leaves you about a month to gather some money first.

2nd Aug 2006 (wed) and 3rd Aug 2006 (thurs)
11am ~ 1pm

Collection 02:
5th Sept 2006 (tues) and 6th Sept 2006 (wed)
4pm ~ 6pm
$100

Collection 03:
3rd Oct 2006 (tues) and 4th Oct 2006 (wed)
11am ~ 1pm (tentative)
$50 ~ $100
(sum to be determined by outcome of sponsorship and fundraising)

3) Sponsors

We’d like to get as many sponsors as we can because remember– the more sponsors we have, the less we each have to pay.

Please do not go to the sponsors until Joan sends you a proposal letter. Reasons being one, so it is more professional, and two, to avoid any legal issues.
